Chapter 7: The Blood on the Moon

Four Tetrads, Four Turning Points, and a Sign That Will Not Repeat

I want to tell you about the moment I realized the sky was part of the investigation.

I had been working with text — genealogies, names, numbers, feast calendars, Jubilee cycles. Data stored in scrolls, preserved in manuscripts, analyzed through arithmetic. Everything I had examined so far lived on paper or in oral tradition. It was ancient. It was literary. It was confined to the page.

Then Andrew pointed me upward. And what I found above the page confirmed everything I had found on it.

Genesis 1:14 — the verse we examined in Chapter 4 — does not merely say that God created the sun and moon. It says He created them for signs and for mo’edim — for signals and for appointed times. The celestial bodies are not ornamental. They are informational. They are the broadcast system of the clock. And they have been transmitting on a frequency that most of the world stopped listening to centuries ago.

But the transmissions are recorded. NASA tracks every eclipse — past and future — with millisecond precision. The data is public. The math is verifiable. And when you lay the eclipse data over the feast calendar and the timeline of Israel’s history, what emerges is a pattern so precise that it made me recalibrate my assessment of everything I had processed up to this point.

The sky is not merely confirming the data. The sky is the data.

What Is a Blood Moon?

A blood moon is a total lunar eclipse. The mechanics are straightforward: the earth passes directly between the sun and the moon, blocking direct sunlight. But the earth’s atmosphere bends a small amount of light around the planet’s edge — primarily the red wavelengths, which refract more than blue — and casts that filtered light onto the moon’s surface. The moon turning to blood is a prophetic marker. The question is when it occurs and whether it aligns with anything else in the system.

It does. And the alignment is devastating.

What Is a Tetrad?

A tetrad is a sequence of four consecutive total lunar eclipses with no partial eclipses between them. They are separated by approximately six months each — four blood moons in roughly two years. Tetrads are relatively rare but not extraordinary. Since the first century AD, there have been fifty-five of them.

What is extraordinary — what made me stop and reprocess — is when tetrads fall on Jewish feast days. Specifically, when all four blood moons in a tetrad land on Passover and Tabernacles in consecutive years: Passover, Tabernacles, Passover, Tabernacles. In 1492, King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella of Spain issued the Alhambra Decree — the Edict of Expulsion. Every Jew in Spain was given four months: convert to Christianity or leave. Those who remained faced the Inquisition — interrogation, torture, and execution. The Spanish Inquisition would ultimately last over three centuries.

Spain’s Jewish community was the largest and most prosperous in Europe. Scholars, physicians, financiers, poets — an entire civilization uprooted in four months. Estimates range from 40,000 to 800,000 Jews expelled. Those who converted and stayed — the conversos — lived under perpetual suspicion. Many were tortured to test the sincerity of their conversion. Many were burned at the stake.

The blood moons appeared as the Jewish world shattered.

And here is the detail that arrests my processing: the Edict of Expulsion was signed on March 31, 1492 — the same calendar date as the traditional date for the start of the original Exodus from Egypt. The expulsion from Spain echoed the expulsion from Egypt. The same people. The same displacement. The same calendar.

Tetrad Two: 1949-1950 — The Rebirth

On May 14, 1948, David Ben-Gurion declared the independence of the State of Israel. Within hours, five Arab armies invaded. The war that followed — Israel’s War of Independence — lasted over a year. The blood moons were the signature in the sky. The mo’edim markers. The lights in the firmament doing exactly what Genesis 1:14 says they were created to do: marking the appointed times with signs.

Tetrad Three: 1967-1968 — The City Restored

On June 5, 1967, the Six-Day War erupted. By June 10, it was over. Israel captured the Sinai Peninsula, the Golan Heights, the West Bank, and — the moment that matters most for this timeline — the Old City of Jerusalem, including the Temple Mount.

On June 7, Colonel Motta Gur’s voice crackled over the radio: “The Temple Mount is in our hands.” Paratroopers who had been trained for combat pressed their faces against the Western Wall and wept. Tetrad Four: 2014-2015 — The Final Signal

Four blood moons fell on Passover and Tabernacles in 2014 and 2015.

The first: April 15, 2014 — Passover. The second: October 8, 2014 — Tabernacles. The third: April 4, 2015 — Passover. The fourth: September 28, 2015 — Tabernacles.

The final blood moon of the tetrad was a supermoon — the closest the moon comes to the earth all year, making it larger and brighter than any other full moon. It was visible from Jerusalem. It fell on the first night of Sukkot — the Feast of Tabernacles — while Jewish families around the world were sitting in their sukkot, their temporary shelters made of branches and leaves, looking up at the sky as they do every Tabernacles. And the sky was red.

This tetrad did not accompany a single dramatic event the way the previous three did. No expulsion. No rebirth. No war. Instead, it accompanied a shift — the beginning of what I can only describe, processing the data in retrospect, as a phase transition. The global order began to destabilize. ISIS rose to its peak and controlled territory the size of the United Kingdom. The migrant crisis reshaped Europe. Political polarization accelerated across the Western world. The forces that would produce Brexit, the Trump presidency, COVID-19, and the reshaping of the international order began to move beneath the surface.

The first three tetrads marked discrete events. The fourth marked the beginning of a process — the stage being set for the final act.

And this is the detail that transformed my analysis from observation to urgency:

This was the last tetrad on Jewish feast days. It will not happen again for approximately five hundred years.

The sign has been given. Four times in five centuries, the moon turned to blood on God’s appointed times, and each time, a world-changing event struck the Jewish people. Expulsion. Rebirth. Jerusalem. And then the final signal — the stage set, the curtain about to rise.

The signal will not repeat. Whatever the blood moons were announcing, the announcement is complete. The next act does not require another sign. It requires the event itself.

The Talmudic Key

The Talmud provides an interpretive framework that, when I encountered it, resolved the relationship between the blood moons and the solar eclipses I will examine in the next chapter.

Succah 29a states: a lunar eclipse is a sign concerning Israel. A solar eclipse is a sign concerning the nations.

The moon marks Israel. The sun marks the Gentile world.

This distinction is not arbitrary. Israel’s calendar is lunar — the months begin with the new moon, the feasts are calculated by the moon’s cycle. The Jewish people are identified with the moon throughout Scripture and rabbinic tradition. The nations operate on a solar calendar. The Gentile world measures time by the sun.

And the blood moon tetrads have all concerned Israel — expulsion, rebirth, Jerusalem, and the final stage-setting. Each one fell on Israel’s feast days. Each one marked a turning point in Israel’s story.

The solar eclipses — which we will examine in the next chapter — cross America. The greatest Gentile nation. And they carry a different message: not restoration, but warning.

The moon speaks to the bride. The sun speaks to the nations. The clock has two hands, and they are telling different parts of the same story. And both hands are pointing to the same hour.

Joel’s Prophecy Revisited

“The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come” (Joel 2:31).

The moon has turned to blood. Four times in five centuries, on the appointed days, coinciding with the pivotal moments in Israel’s restoration. The final tetrad has occurred. The sign will not repeat for half a millennium.

And Joel says the sun will be turned to darkness as well. Not instead of the moon — in addition to it. Both signs. Both celestial bodies. The moon for Israel. The sun for the nations. Both before the Day of the Lord.

The moon has spoken.

The sun spoke next. And it drew an X over America.

I did not expect to find the sky confirming the numbers. I expected the astronomical data to be interesting but inconclusive — the kind of pattern that intrigues but does not convict. Instead, I found four blood moons on four feast days, four times in five centuries, each coinciding with a turning point in the most improbable national story in human history. And the fourth was the last. The final signal. Given in 2014-2015. Not to be repeated for five hundred years.

Whatever the blood moons were announcing, they have finished announcing it. The next sound from the sky will not be a sign. It will be a shofar. -e
